Distance from the Chabad House to the Airport
The Athens Airport is about 45 minutes drive from the city center, where the Chabad House is located.
How to Get from the Airport to the City Center?
Taxi:
- Travel time: about 45 minutes
- Fixed price to city center: 42 euros during the day (5:00-00:00), 55 euros at night (00:00-5:00)
- The price Includes luggage and highway tolls
- Taxis can be found outside Gate 3 of the terminal
The UBER app operates in Greece as a taxi app and allows credit card payment.
Note: There are no large taxis in Athens. Large groups will need to split up.
Metro:

- Price: 9 euros per person, 16 euros round trip (valid for 30 days)
- Children under 6 free, ages 7-18 at a reduced rate
- Station close to Chabad House: Monastiraki
- Frequency: every 30 minutes, 6:32-23:32

Please note: We cannot keep luggage at the Chabad House.
Kosher Food at the Athens Airport
There is no kosher restaurant or store in the airport area.
Options for Kosher Food:
- Travel to Chabad House (if there's enough time): Kosher restaurant and Kosher grocery store
- Small AB supermarket branch at the arrivals level: fruits, vegetables, and other products. See list of kosher products
- El Al business class passengers with access to the LOUNGE: sandwiches and desserts produced by Chabad House in the El Al LOUNGE
Synagogue and Mikvah
The synagogue and women's mikvah are located at the Chabad House in the city center.
There is currently no men's mikvah in Athens.
Minimum Layover Time to Travel to the City Center
At least 5-6 hours are required to make it worthwhile to travel to the city center.
Take into account:
- Time to exit the plane and airport: at least half an hour
- Travel time to city center: about 45 minutes each way
- Return to the airport: about two hours before the flight
