Hi everyone ,just wanted to let you know that Chabad in Athens runned by Rabbi Hendel and his loveley wife Nechama is a true Blessing! Just back from 2 weeks in Greece and had a wonderful time. The Athens Chabad has been existing for almost 10 years for sure if not more !Our first time was 10 years ago and we have been coming back regularly because it's convenient. Rabbi Hendel always went out of his way to accomodate us for Shabbat.(whether it was for delivery or pick up, or just info...) To our great surprise they recently relocated in the center not far from the sites, off Ermou street (more exactly on Aisopou ) in a very nice building that holds a restaurant being presently redecorated. The menu is influenced by local cuisine with a Sephardi twist. The food is EXCELLENT, AFFORDABLE ,AND FRESH! I can not thank enough, this wonderfull family ,for giving us the chance to get to experience Greece year after year and keep kosher. They also cater your simcha (wedding, bar mitzvah...so I heard!) I just needed to spread the word. Many times the web sites are not updated and we all know it's hard to find a good kosher places while travelling. Let's encourage them, let Athens,Greece be your next destination!!! Shalom and Ya sas! from Montreal, Canada.

Hi, I'm Nehama Hendel, and I'm a bit of a wandering Jew: born and raised in France, I studied in Israel, then lived in the United States before ending up in Athens, Greece.
Together with my husband, Mendel, we operate the Chabad center here since 2001. Our three kids (ftu ftu:) help us in this exciting undertaking (by not disturbing too much :).
