ATHENS MULTIMEDIA JEWISH LIBRARY
In loving memory of Levi Hendel z"l
The Athens Multimedia library was founded in January 2007 in memory of Levi Hendel z”l. Levi was a joyful young man who was always eager to help others and had a special love for books and reading. He was on the way to an Israeli army base, along with other friends, to bring the Chanukah spirit to the soldiers and give them Chanukah candles and doughnuts, when he was taken away from us at the age of 13 during a car accident.
The lending library will service the Greek Jewish community and offer books in English, Greek, French and Hebrew, CDs and DVDs covering a wide array of topics, from Jewish history to philosophy, from Bible study to Kabbalah, including novels, art, humor, cuisine and a special kids section. The DVD collection will include movies and documentaries related to Jewish life and Israel as well as children’s Jewish educational material.
The library has already over 300 books. Our initial target is 2000 books, 500 DVDs and 250 CDs. You can participate to the growth of the library by sending us Jewish-interest books, DVDs and CDs or with one of the following options:
