Rules and guidelines

Read carefully before downloading

  • Don't assume a product is kosher just because it's kosher in another country. Products may be produced in different factories with different ingredients for Greece.
  • Not all products listed as kosher are on a Mehadrin level.
  • If a kosher symbol or specific production code/country of origin is required, this condition must be met for the product to be considered kosher.
  • "Approved" products means these types like "eggs" are Kosher in general (following the guidelines), while "Checked and approved" products have been specifically checked by named rabbis.
  • Always use the most up-to-date kosher list and check chabad.gr for updates.
  • Products listed as kosher are for year-round use, NOT for Passover.
  • When possible, choose certified products made under rabbinical supervision rather than simply approved products.
  • Supermarkets in the islands and in small remote places in Greece usually have a smaller selection of Kosher products.
