Chabad to Operate Kosher Restaurant at Athens Olympics
Chabad of Athens is planning a kosher restaurant for the upcoming Olympic games that will take place next month. The kosher restaurant will also serve as a Jewish information center, with volunteers available to answer questions and cater to the diverse needs of tourists. The Kol Tuv Glatt Kosher restaurant, located in the picturesque neighborhood of Monastiraki in central Athens, will offer elegant traditional Greek and Mediterranean cuisine as well as international specialties. In a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere, breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks will be served, combining the freshest ingredients, the professional culinary savoir-faire, and the highest standards of Kashrus. Emissaries of Chabad (part of the Lubavitch movement, headed by the late Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson) have in recent years stepped up their involvement in kosher, offering Shabbat meals to travelers in such cities as Florence and Venice and elsewhere in Europe and the Far East".
